Why parents should buy organic baby clothes
THE BALANCE OF STYLE & SUSTAINABILITY
Finn + Emma®’s designs are as classic as they are contemporary and as sophisticated as they are whimsical. Our collections feature fresh prints, modern colors and always have a unique spin. Apparel and toys co-ordinate, allowing for easy mix-and-match. Heirloom quality construction makes our products excellent gifts, hand-me-downs and keepsakes. We were recently voted among the “10 Best Sustainable Baby Brands” by Vogue Magazine.

OUR APPAREL IS MADE WITH BABY’S COMFORT IN MIND
Finn + Emma®’s garments are made with buttery soft, G.O.T.S. certified organic cotton and non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes. Garment snaps are lead/nickel free and feature real coconut inserts. Our garments have a generous fit—allowing them to be worn for longer—and accommodate cloth as well as disposable diapers.

OUR TOYS ARE FUN & SAFE FOR BABY
Finn + Emma®’s wood toys are made from untreated Indian hardwood, finished with vegetable seed wax, and filled with little beans. Our hand-knit toys are made by an artisanal women’s collective in Peru with G.O.T.S certified organic cotton yarn and wool stuffing. They feature a phthalate-free rattle inside.

WHY ORGANIC?
Parents choose organic clothing to limit their little one’s exposure to the harmful chemicals often found in non-organic clothing. Synthetic fibers or non-organic cotton often contains petrochemicals, acrylic, PVC and esters that have been linked to a variety of health problems. The choice of organic clothing is also part of a larger trend towards sustainability—nearly 20% of all water pollution occurs through the making of non-organic clothing.

WHAT DOES G.O.T.S. CERTIFICATION MEAN?
To be G.O.T.S. certified, textile products must contain a minimum of 95% organic fibers. All inks, dyes and process chemicals used in manufacture must meet basic toxicity and biodegradability requirements. Heavy metals, formaldehyde, nickel, and PVC are prohibited from the manufacture process.

WHAT IS FAIR TRADE?
Fair trade is an alternative to conventional trade based on partnership between producers and consumers. At every step of the supply chain, producers are paid a living wage and work in safe, humane conditions. Buying fair trade is a powerful way for consumers to reduce poverty through everyday shopping.
