Wild And Wonderful: How to Plan a Jungle Themed Baby Shower
So you’re planning a baby shower for a “little cub” who’s on the way? The jungle theme works great here too. And you can think about the event in many of the same ways as above.
- Get creative with your invites
There are lots of jungle-themed invites (both electronic and printed) for you to choose from. Here is one simple option from evite, and another from Punchbowl. You’ll of course have to decide whether you’ll have an indoor, outdoor, drive-by, or virtual event.
You can incorporate some jungle-related language and puns on your invites and at the event itself. A few examples: “we’re wild with excitement;” “a little wild one is on the way;” “join us for some monkey-ing around.” You get the idea!
- Plan your décor
Assuming your event will be in-person, you’ll want to gather some tropical-looking plants and other décor to help set the scene. Many grocery chains tend to carry plants in the palm family, or pay a visit to your local plant shop. Monstera leaves—real or faux—are also perfect to use as table and wall décor, or in vases.
Another easy way to add to your tropical vibe is by using tropical fruits, displayed on the tables you’ll be using. Pineapples, bananas, papayas, mangoes—all great options; coconuts too. You could even make a pineapple vase.
Round out your décor with some animal-print or -shaped balloons.
- Offer a taste of the tropics
Here are just a few ideas of festive food and drinks recipes you might try:
Plantain Cups with Avocado and Shrimp
Tropical (or maybe "Safari"?) Sangria
Have fun, and let us know how your jungle-theme shower turns out!
